Brian & Caroline: Growing Memories in Gettysburg
It was so good to be back in Gettysburg with Brian and Caroline. I first worked with them years ago for their engagement and then their wedding, so getting the call to capture their maternity session felt like catching up with old friends. There is a special kind of trust that happens when you have documented so many of a couple's milestones; Brian even took the wheel and drove us around to all his favorite hidden spots in the park, acting as the ultimate local guide.
Historic Roots
We started our afternoon near the historic Dobbin House Tavern, utilizing the classic stone architecture of downtown Gettysburg. It provided a beautiful, grounded contrast to the airy, open fields of the battlefield we explored later. Seeing how their lives have evolved since their wedding day made every frame of this session feel even more meaningful.
The Guided Tour
One of the perks of working with locals is finding those quiet corners of the battlefield that most tourists miss. Brian led us to some incredible spots where the light hit the rolling hills just right. It was a perfect blend of catching up on their new life together while documenting the quiet, excited anticipation of their next big chapter.
